Our winery grew from our shared hobbies and interests. We enjoy making wine, learning about and trying new wines, as well as exploring the environment in which we live. Steppe Cellars evolved from all of these interests. Our concept was and continues to be --- to make fine quality wines at an affordable price, and to have a fun winery we all (our customers and ourselves!) will enjoy spending time in.

What will you see when you come to Steppe Cellars?

Steppe Cellars is out in the country. We are located in the middle of a cherry orchard with native shrub-steppe plants bordering our farm land.

Our tasting room is a work in progress. You will most likely see changes each time you drop by!

The tasting room is in a Quonset hut. It is a rustic farm building that we have converted to meet all of our winery needs.

Educational Displays

You will be able to see some of the equipment we use for making wine. We will be happy to explain how the equipment works, and the steps we go through to make our wine.

Since we are Steppe Cellars, we will also have some information on the shrub-steppe environment. We think it is a pretty cool ecosystem, and we hope to share that with our guests.

Wildlife Refuge

We are working on creating a wildlife refuge on some of our native land. While this is a work in progress, we think it is still interesting to walk through - especially when the spring wildflowers are in bloom.

Cherry Orchard

There is a great view from the cherry orchard, and you are welcome to take your wine out into the grassy picnic area in the orchard and enjoy. We carry a selection of picnic snacks you may purchase in the tasting room.       There are many diverse farming operations that surround us, and we would be happy to point some of those out to you.

Art and Gifts

It is our goal to always have samples of local artist' work on display and for sale at our winery.

Currently the pottery from Muskat Pottery is available at our winery. This pottery features beautiful glazes. Some are accented with interesting bead work.

Tasting...

When you come to our tasting room, we will try to share with you what we know about wines. If we don't have the style of wine you are interested in, we will direct you to a winery that does. There are note sheets available for you to jot down your impressions as you try the wine.

We will also have an alternate beverage for the designated drivers. The coffee pot and tea pot will always be on.
